Philip Muccio, our company founder, is a licensed and certified Prosthetist and Orthotist. He developed the Bioflex Wearable Therapy and Pain Management Systems in an effort to improve the quality of life of individuals with disabilities. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1983 and completed the orthotic and prosthetic residency program at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He began working with Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) at the Cleveland Veterans Medical Center where he originally began investigating the effects of electrical stimulation on paralyzed muscle. He is President and CEO of Bioflex Electromedicine where he directs the pain management and neurorehab divisions. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics and has served as a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Orthotics and Prosthetics. |
