Vocational Rehabilitation: "Return to Work"

Listing of state by state Vocational Rehabilitation Programs

The Bioflex NMES Pain Management System is ideally suited to get people back to work. Here's why:

  • Use of the Bioflex system can help reduce or eliminate pain medications and their side effects.
  • The Bioflex system is light-weight and flexible and it does not restrict body movement.
  • Its electrodes perform effectively each day so it is reliable enough to manage pain day-to-day.
  • The garment ensures good electrode-skin contact even in the presence of sweat.
  • It is worn under clothing and can be completely concealed.
  • All lead wires are integrated so there are no dangling wires to interfere with body movement.
  • It doesn't take the injured worker away from the job during the day; it alleviates pain as it's worn.
  • In most cases pain can be alleviated and held to a minimum as activity increases.

Reliability

The chronic pain patient faces many obstacles in attempting to return to employment. One of those is that pain can be present everyday, therefore, it is imperative that pain be managed effectively each day. The high reliability of pain can be evenly matched with the Bioflex system. It is designed to perform the same every day it's put on. The garment has an array of electrodes that fall in to prescribed locations, so there's no variability in performance.

Pain Alleviation Even With Activity

Whether you are working in an office or as a laborer you know that pain can intensify as your body moves. Our clinical data suggests that the Bioflex system can suppress pain and prevent it from rising as activity level increases throughout the day. This benefit can greatly enhance the potential for an injured worker to return to work.

Pain Medications Can Have Undesirable Side Effects...Let's Cut Back On Their Use

Certain pain medications can cause lethargy (the inability to think clearly) and/or sleepiness. These effects can have major consequences at work and some require that you do not drive. In principle, minimizing or eliminating pain medications without sacrificing pain control, can be achieved in some circumstances. Long-term medication usage can also have deleterious effects to the organ systems of the body so again, if medications can be minimized it is believed to be healthier. NMES is not known to cause harm to the body nor does it have side effects. Exceptions to this are rare and can be avoided. Among them are skin burns, heart arrythmia, and pace-maker interference.
